Author, researcher and campaigner
I’m Anthea Lawson, author of The Entangled Activist: Learning to recognise the master's tools, a book that lifts the lid on our attempts to change the world.
It's an answer to that perennial question: why do activists so often seem to recreate the problems they're trying to solve? Why do people working for human rights treat each other badly? What's going on when we want to destroy our opponents yet are working for peace and justice?
'Activism is the rent I pay for living on the planet,' said Alice Walker. In these times of crisis, it's hard to disagree. Yet activism doesn't look appealing to everyone, and this book is about why, and what might make a difference.
The Entangled Activist is a call for all of us to understand activism differently – whether we’re reacting to activists, doing activism... or feeling that perhaps we ought to be doing it.
It'll be published on 30th June: pre-order the book here
